“What a revelation of the time span in this very young country. Seeing a grave of a man that was born not that many years after this place gained its independence and lived to the age of when my parents were born is an ah ha moment to my place today. A great great day for my understanding! Listening to My in-laws Rose and Phillip talk about their lives growing up made me very humble! I am very lucky to know them and their stories of their lives.I know this is only a fluff called Face Book but it can be more in the time to come” Posted on Facebook Nov. 8
To go two hundred miles back in time was amazing. A solders gave. A man born last century and had fought in the Civil War from South Carolina for some reason moved to Texas and lifer and died. Nothing more know about him.
Then to have driven to Glen Rose and see the tracks of a dinosaur that walked the same land before man was here put time in a strange perspective for me today. Maybe we are like mayflies just here for a time and little is know about us for others to ponder just small lucky remnants of our existence. A strangely remarkable day!
